I have been in private practice for over 30 years working with individuals, couples and families. I grew up in Santa Barbara, CA, and graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Nursing. While working at U.C. Medical Center in San Francisco at the Cancer Research Institute, I became interested in working more thoroughly in helping people through difficult periods in their lives. I then got my M.A. in Clinical Psychology at JFK University. Concurrently, I took a year’s internship at UCSF in their program in Human Sexuality. After graduation, I started a counseling career. I spent several years working as an independent service provider for an Employee Assistance Program in the Bay Area and also coordinated outreach for the JFK University Counseling Center. In addition, I have been on the affiliate staff of Walnut Creek Hospital (when it was still open), supervised students and therapists, and had a myriad of different counseling experiences. I am a Life Member of the Stanford Alumni Association. I am also currently a fellow with the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and a Diplomat in Sex Therapy with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
